A small ritual, a big impact

At our team at Die Haftpflichtkasse VVaG, we stumbled into a simple but powerful teambuilding habit: In our intro rounds, we don’t introduce ourselves — someone else from the team introduces you.

It sounds small, but it changes everything.

Suddenly there’s appreciation in the room. It shifts focus away from ego and toward belonging. It builds connection, even before the “real” work begins. The only catch: If someone joins alone — with no one to introduce them — it can feel a bit isolating.

So maybe the real task is this: Make sure no one ever enters a team alone.
