Mark Allasread and the Great Newsletter Purge
09/12/2025 · 1 min read
Pre-holiday rush, inbox flooding, newsletter season — and somehow the perfect moment for my mate Mark Allasread to shine.
I’ve realised I barely read emails anymore. Maybe 10% make it through. If the subject line doesn’t catch me within seconds, the message is gone — marked as read and moved on. Only invoices still get my attention — purely out of duty, not joy. And sometimes a voucher from a shop where I actually plan to buy something. Sometimes. 😉
Newsletters from shops I once bought something from? Almost no chance. I’ve even become too lazy to look for the unsubscribe link. Sometimes I mark them as read without opening them. But more and more often, I simply mark them as spam — because honestly, I just don’t feel like hunting for an opt-out buried in the footer.
So yes: Mark Allasread and Mark Asspam are my inbox companions this season. And my digital life feels lighter for it.
